  It is with great pleasure that the Board of Directors of Independent Community Banks of North Dakota announces John A. Brown as their new Executive Vice President.
  John started his 36 year banking career with family-owned Security State Bank of Hannaford in Hannaford, ND. He was involved in ICBND for many years, serving as our President in 1985. Additional industry experience includes appointments to the State Banking Board and Bank Holding Company Assocaiton.
    John looks forward to visiting with many friends in banking as well as meeting new ones. His passion for indepenent community banking remains at the core of his values, and will contine strong in promoting what we do best. 
    John will start his new position effective June 1, 2012.

The Independent Community Banks of North Dakota is the only statewide association that represents the independent community banks in North Dakota exclusively. Our mission is to "enable the independent member banks to profitably and competitively provide quality financial services to the communities and citizens of North Dakota."

ICBND is driven by the needs of our members to add value by: being a proactive industry and advocate before state, federal, legislative and regulatory bodies; promoting the image and importance of community banks to local, state and national economies and to its citizens; providing a forum for networking and information dissemination; and by creating cooperative products, services, and education offerings to assist our members to compete and flourish in a constantly changing financial services marketplace.

Present programs of ICBND include educational offerings which attract some of the finest speakers in the financial services industry, as well as the annual convention of the association, that has received national recognition as one of the finest banking conventions in the country.

ICBND also offers a Credit Card & Merchant Service program through ICB Services Inc, that provides members access to credit cards, debit cards, and merchant programs.

ICBND also operates and manages the ICB Purchasing Exchange, which offers substantial discounts to member banks on virtually all kinds of office and bank supply items.

Taking an active and professional lobbying effort, not only in North Dakota, but also in Washington, D.C., is a very important part of ICBND's service to its members in order to aggressively protect and preserve the heritage of independent community banking.

Community banks serve their communities and can only prosper when the community it serves does well. North Dakota is our home, and ICBND seeks to continue its important role in assuring it is a home with a successful and proud future.
