Collections can be an area ripe for consumer complaints.  Avoid complaints by complying with the alphabet soup of related regulations, including FDCPA, TCPA, UDAP/UDAAP, FCRA, UCC, and more.  Compliance is your friend – and best defense.

AFTER THIS WEBINAR YOU’LL BE ABLE TO:

  • Understand the new FDCPA/Reg F
  • Articulate the big issues with interpreting the TCPA
  • Discuss why credit reporting is sometimes regulated as though it is a debt collection activity
  • Recognize emerging trends in credit reporting litigation claims
  • Identify which states have COVID-19-related debt collection moratoriums in place

WEBINAR DETAILS

Do you know the dos and don’ts regarding debt collection?  What parts of the regulatory alphabet soup apply?  It’s more important than ever to understand the legalities and evolution of debt collection.  The CFPB recently released a new debt collections rule, the pandemic has upended debt collection efforts, and state regulators are becoming more active. The FDCPA and Reg F got a refresher, UDAP/UDAAP is an on-going concern, the TCPA is still before the Supreme Court, and consumer lawyers have shifted their focus to FCRA claims against furnishers.  Join us for a comprehensive overview of the shifting landscape of collection regulations and litigation trends.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This informative session is designed for in-house counsel, compliance officers, loan officers, special assets officers, and other similarly positioned bank management.

TAKE-AWAY TOOLKIT

  • Reference materials from the CFPB, FTC, and more
