Are you a new consumer lender?  Do you know what questions to ask when visiting with a prospective borrower?  Are you confident in your loan decisions?  What if you have to say no?  Join this lively webinar to learn how to navigate the consumer lending process with confidence, from application to completion.

AFTER THIS WEBINAR YOU’LL BE ABLE TO:

  • Ask the right questions during the initial loan interview
  • Avoid getting ensnared in the most common fair lending traps
  • Read and understand consumer credit reports
  • Focus on key financial indicators for consistent, accurate, and efficient underwriting
  • Graciously say “no” when a borrower does not qualify

WEBINAR DETAILS

Many financial institutions offer online loans, instant approval, and quick decisions. While these features appeal to many people (and your institution should consider these, too), many folks still prefer to talk to their lender face-to-face.  As a consumer lender, you will have countless opportunities to interact with people in your community as they try to finance the things they need and want.  This webinar will focus on a wide range of basic skills needed to be an effective consumer lender, including effective communication, listening, fair lending considerations, and analysis.  You will learn the essential questions to ask; important compliance trip hazards; when to say yes, no, or maybe; and how to represent your financial institution in a positive light, regardless of the outcome.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This lively session is perfect for new and experienced consumer lenders and universal bankers.  Branch managers and personal bankers with lending authority will also benefit.

TAKE-AWAY TOOLKIT

  • Annotated consumer loan application with comments and descriptions for every field
  • Annotated adverse action
  • Sample consumer credit report with useful notes
  • Employee training log
  • Interactive quiz
