About Membership Minimize
There are many benefits to being an ICBND member.
  • ICBND actively promotes the interests of community banking before the state legislature through bill drafting and written and oral testimony.
  • ICBND also regularly communicates with member banks on legislative issues of importance to inform, and if needed, mobilize needed support on key issues.
  • ICBND offers quality educational opportunities at valuable discounted member rates through classroom, web, and telephone seminars. ICBND also provides a monthly education newsletter to inform members of available educational opportunities.
  • Our members have the added advantage to receive discounts on promotional items, custom furniture, and banking supplies through our ICB Purchasing Exchange. By utilizing the ICB Purchasing/Staples partnership, members also receive substantial discounts on office supplies.
  • Members can enroll in the ICB Services’ Visa/MasterCard Merchant Program which allows banks to retain their own credit card receivables along with providing them the administration service. All decisions are authorized and controlled by each bank.
  • Members will receive a complimentary copy of our Community Banker newsletter which contains significant news and information pertinent to the banking field.
  • Members are given an exclusive opportunity to attend ICBND’s annual Convention & Exposition.
  • ICBND has discount programs on customer checks through Harland Checks, on employee health care through Blue Cross Blue Shield, and ATM services and products through i_TECH.
  • Our member bank’s will be listed on our website along with a direct link to the bank’s home site for quick reference.
  • Bank’s will also receive a complimentary copy of our associate member booklet listing for use in selecting their supplies and consultants.
  • As an ICBND member, you will receive a list of discounted hotel rates through participating hotels. 

    Bank Eligibility

    Any National Bank, State Bank, or Trust Company which is independently owned, controlled, and conducts its business as an Independent Bank, may become an active member of this association upon the payment of dues that shall be fixed from year to year by the Board of Directors. For an entity to be eligible for membership, it must meet the following criteria:
     
  • It must be a commercial bank insured by the FDIC.
  • It must generally share the philosophy of independent community banks, and be operated in a manner that is consistent with that of other independent community banks.

    “Independent,” for purposes of membership eligibility, generally means:
  1. making primary customer and strategic decisions within the bank’s geographical area, within North Dakota;
  2. committed to improvement of its marketing area, primarily within North Dakota 
  3. represented by a charter located within North Dakota; and 
  4. any branches established and operated within North Dakota must be operated in accordance with the branching laws applicable to commercial banks.
  5. “community bank,” for purposes of membership eligibility, generally means that the bank makes a majority of its loans in the local service area from which deposits are drawn.
  • The entity generally cannot be both publicly traded and have a multi-state presence. If it is both publicly traded and has a multi-state presence, it can be accepted for membership only after approval by a two-thirds vote of the members on the Board of Directors present at any regular or special meeting.
  • A bank, a branch or a subsidiary of a bank not chartered in North Dakota and otherwise eligible for ICBND membership, may become a member.

Our Associate Members are one of the major keys to being an effective organization. The benefits to your associate membership include:

  • Publishing your company’s profile in ICBND’s Associate Member directory. This directory is given to all bank members for use in selecting their suppliers and consultants.

Associate Membership Fee
 
The annual investment for ICBND Associate Membership is $450. An Associate Membership is in effect for one calendar year. Renewals are billed in January of each year. For an Associate
